“Arts Education in the Service of a Broken Humanity on a Fragile Planet”

I am working on the role of arts education in relation to questions such as the following:

  • What does it mean to be “human” in the 21st century, amid multiple crises (social, economic, political, and environmental)?

  • Is the ideal of a shared humanity an impossible dream, amid widening inequality, violent conflict, and extreme polarization?

  • How can the arts and arts education make a significant difference in the service of a broken humanity on a fragile planet?

Congress themes addressed

I will address the main theme of the Congress “A Harmonious World” by focusing on the role of arts education and the following sub-themes:

  • Enabling cross-cultural communication and understanding

  • Widening drama and arts education conversations.
